The Brief

Industrial warmth
for a Williamsburg
corner.

The 440 Kent Avenue Lobby is a residential lobby in Brooklyn designed by Studio RB as part of the building’s broader repositioning in the Williamsburg market. The brief asked for an interior that reflected the neighbourhood’s creative energy while communicating the quality of the residences above — a lobby that worked hard for the building’s brand without overstating its case.

Studio RB designed around a palette of warm industrial materials — concrete, steel, and wood — creating a space that felt rooted in its Williamsburg context while maintaining a sense of refinement appropriate to a quality residential building.
