The intention to upgrade this two-story rental house at a low cost and fast speed was the main request for this project. The project involved both interior and exterior renovation, and the result was a fresh look to the place within a total of two months to be completed. The whole makeover, which includes a new roof and siding, a new interior layout, new flooring, new doors and windows, new lighting, a new stair, etc.

The entrance door is replaced with a larger front door, enhancing the front façade look and adding a sophisticated look to the front façade. The side viewing panels allow more light in the living area. The living area also received new flooring and a new lighting plan, which made the space look refreshed.

The new first-floor layout provided amplification and connection among the spaces. After demolishing some walls, the kitchen gained more space and new cabinets, hardware, counter top, flooring, and backsplash tiles. The dining area is also revamped with the new flooring, creating a continuous flow. New sliding doors and new, larger windows provided plenty of natural light and better access between the living room and yard.

On the second floor, where all the bedrooms are located, the same work directions were implanted with new flooring, new lighting, new painting, and rearranging the layout for the master suite. On the lower lever, the space that before was used as a car garage is now transformed into two extra bedrooms and a den area.

The workshop shed in the backyard is a free-standing structure that serves as an artist's studio and extra storage. The clerestory window on top of the entrance not only provides more natural light inside the space but also gives a unique character for the structure.
